The valley contains wetland areas, which periodically flood due to the regime in the river Dijle. It is a mosaic of small fields, poplar plantations and groves, pastures and meadows, rough and reed fields, ponds and canals. So you can see a lot of different birds.
It can be reached by the De Lijn bus from Leuven or Brussels. There are a few parking lots around the area. To explore the area you need to walk.
