Description

Frasnes-les-Bassins nature reserve is right in the center of the municipality of Frasnes. This 20 ha nature reserve with a rich fauna and flora was created around the old sedimentation basins of the sugar factory that was closed in 2004. You can see many water birds like Common Shelduck, Little Ringed Plover, Mute Swan, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Common Pochard, Little Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Blackcap and Grey Wagtail. The area is also a good place for dragonflies.
