Description

The Neigembos is a 72 hectare nature and forest area on the border between the Flemish Ardennes and the Pajottenland. Striking in the Neigembos is the highly variable relief. The height varies from 20 m to 90 m. Erosion after deforestation has created sunken roads, with very varied vegetation to the left and right of them. 40 bird species breed in this mixed oak and beech forest (about 80% beech and 15% oak). Among the birds you can see in the forest are Common Buzzard, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Marsh Tit, Goldcrest, Common Chaffinch, Short-toed Treecreeper and Eurasian Nuthatch.
