A waterreservoir for drinking water, surrounded with a concreate wall. Spaarbekken Blankaart is situated between the river the IJzer and the village of Woumen.

Description

Spaarbekken Blankaart is a waterreservoir that attracts many birds. You can walk/bike around it and there is a bird hide. Among the birds you can see are Common Teal, Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Black-necked Grebe and Eurasian Wigeon. See for more birds the extended birdlist below.

Access

Is situated between Woumen village and the river Ijzer. Follow the signs "Spaarbekken". You can walk or use your bike around it (about 3,5 km to walk/cycle around it). Parking place is near the hide. The hide is on a ramp, ±25 steps in grass and gravel. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
