Description
In the winter period, this area is a popular resting place for large numbers of ducks. Hen Harrier is also on the job every year, just like the noisy Cetti's Warbler. In the spring it is on the puddles near the river Ijzer a coming and going of passing waders. For species such as Eurasian Curlew, Snipe , Black-tailed Godwit , Northern Lapwing , Common Redshank , Wood Sandpiper , Green Sandpiper it is an important stopover on the way to the northern breeding areas. Other notable spring guests are Spoonbill , Little Egret and Great Egret. In the varied area, birds such as Bluethroat and Avocet breed.
