Description
The reserve (called 'Baltata') is old natural forest next to Albena Resort and is good place to see Grey-headed Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and sometimes - Black Woodpecker, and other forest birds from the asphalt paths of the resort. The terrace of the tallest building of the resort (Dobrudzha Hotel) is an excellent watch point to observe the flow of migrating Great White Pelican and almost all raptor species of Europe. Red-breasted Flycatcher, Common Redstart and other passerine birds cross the area during migration as well.
