Extensively managed natural oak forest near the E87 road, a good place to see Semicollared Flycatcher, several species of woodpeckers and other woodland birds.
Goritsa Forest is a place with easy access and is a nice woodland on a almost flat terrain, where Semicollared Flycatcher breeds. Presence of standing and fallen dead wood provides excellent conditions for Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker and Black Woodpecker, but also Wood Warbler, Common Redstart and Tree Pipit. The site is situated on the migratory flyway of storks, pelicans and birds of prey which can be observed from some of the open areas around.
Easiest way is to stop at the road restaurant Goritsa, park there and make a walk into the forest.
