Description

The southern part of the dam of Mandra Reservoir near Burgas City, where the water from the reservoir flows into the brakish part of the wetland complex is very interesting for bird watching. The abundance of fish and other sources of food attract big numbers of birds of many species all year round. Birds are adapted to some extent to the human presence, which allows good views of some usually shy species. Dalmatian Pelican and Great White Pelican, Glossy Ibis, several species of herons and egrets, including Cattle Egret can be observed. In some years Collared Pratincole breed in the fields around and can provide very good view.
