Als  >  Denmark

There are plans to make an 122 ha wetland area but unfortunately it keeps getting put off. The fields are mostly used for grazing and hay.

Description

Birkepøl is an area of wet coastal grasslands. You can make a nice round trip of about 9 km. From the dike you can observe both flooded grassland and seabirds. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Long-tailed Duck, Common Scoter, Common Eider, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Redshank, Eurasian Oystercatcher, Eurasian Curlew, Common Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, Short-eared Owl and Eurasian Skylark.
