Description

Ovesø or Ove Lake is an 8 km long lake located in Thy. The lake is narrow and the deepest parts of the lake is two and a half meter. The area is a protected Natura 2000 area and consists mainly of reed bed. The area is protected as an important site for the otter and was for a period its only habitat in Denmark, but is also together with surrounding fields and meadows habitat for resting birds. Among the birds you can see here are White-tailed Eagle, Garganey, Mute Swan, Bewick's Swan, Whooper Swan, Common Pochard, Grey Heron and Common Tern.
