The area around of the Pärnu river mouth houses, large reed beds, wide coastal meadows, sandbanks and even a few lagoons. All of which attract heaps of birds.

Description

The Pärnu coastal meadows attract quite a few wetland birds. Most notebly Citrine Wagtail. The areas sandbanks are often brimming with waders during low water levels during the migration. The reed beds surrounding the coastal meadows hold reed birds like Reed Warbler, Great Bittern, Water Rail, Bearded Tit, Marsh Warbler, River Warbler, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Bearded Tit, Reed Bunting and Savi's Warbler.

Access

There are a few parking spots next to the birdwatching towers. As the coastal meadows are next to the city Pärnu parking is easy although often crowded. There are long trails through the entire area, so the area is easy to explore on foot.
