Description
In the middle of the lake there is a flat muddy island, called Lokkisaari, in English Gull Island. Thousands of Black-headed Gull breed there. The island itself provides shelter for many migrating species, especially waders. Lot's of rarities have been found from Lokkisaari. During best days you may see thousands of birds there and lot's of species. Best time to visit is from April to October, during late autum, winter and early spring there is not much to see.

Access
There are two observation towers, the new one in south shore, an old one in east shore. The new tower is easy to reach either by public transportation (bus), but the old one requires some hiking or bike / car. The new tower is also wheelchair accessible. If you go to the old tower (see map with trail), note that part of the trail from parking place to tower might be muddy.
