Description

The Bruksviken area is an important water bird area where many waterfowl nest during the summer. Migrating birds also like to rest here which offers a chance to spot a wide variety of birds in the area. Canada Goose, Barnacle Goose, Greylag Goose, Mute Swan, Whooper Swan, Common Teal and Grey Heron can be seen during migration season and sometimes waders like Bar-tailed Godwit, Eurasian Curlew and Spotted Redshank stop by too. Great Egret and Red-necked Phalarope have been sighted here a few times as well. During summer months there are cows grazing among the reeds as part of a program to keep the bay area open for birdlife.
