A cove area with reed meadows, forests and fields.
The reeds and water areas at Porvarinlahti attract a variety of birds. Once the reeds grow tall and thick it will be harder to see birds but a lucky birder might catch a glimpse of a Corn Crake, Eurasian Coot or Grey Heron. It's also possible to hear the calls of a Great Bittern among the reeds. The area is also great place to spot butterflies and dragonflies in summer. There's bird tower in the area but it doesn't really offer a view to anything interesting anymore after the reeds have have hidden most of the water areas during the years.
There is a small parking place in the area and Vuosaaren huippu is close by so it's possible to leave the car at Vuosaarenhuippu's parking place and visit both places on the same journey. The area is accessible by walking and cycling. The bay is popular area with cyclers.
As the area is popular with cyclers it's good to keep that in mind when birding as some cyclers ride at fast speeds and accidents are possible.
