Outlet of Lake Saimaa, runs to Lake Ladoga (Russia). River doesn´t have much ice cover in winter time. Birds can be observed in different places.

Description

The best place to see wintering waterfowl in South Karelia. Spring and autumn time when lakes are covered with ice, some migratory birds usually arrive first or stay long at River Vuoksi. Birds you can see here are: Canada Goose, Whooper Swan, Eurasian Wigeon, Mallard, Common Goldeneye, Goosander, Herring Gull and Great Cormorant.
