Cap Sizun - Point Du Van

Bretagne  >  France

Feeling of the end of the world at Point Du Van. Walking along the towering cliffs, site seeing and birding.

Added by Hannah Driesse

Description

Point du Van feels like the end of the world. A tiny chapel situatated on a bare rock. Dangerous cliffs and a wild sea. The faraway islands Ile De Sein in the hazy distance. Wonderful on a summers eve. We visited the folk festival at Keriolet that evening. Among the ocean-going sea birds which can be seen at sea and around the cliffs are Kittiwake, Common Guillemot, Northern Fulmar, European Shag, Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull and Great Black-backed Gull. The heathland, coastal grassland and cliffs are the all year round home of other remarkable birds including Common Raven, Red-billed Chough and Peregrine Falcon.
