Carrieres de la Plaine Hommes is a lake and wetland complex in former quarries with clear waters surrounded by a vast natural setting. Because many people use the lake for recreation and swimming, bird watching is best done here outside the holidays or early in the day. Among the birds you can see here are Common Pochard, Little Grebe, Purple Heron, Common Nightingale, Eurasian Nightjar, Cuckoo and Common Kingfisher.
