Description

The lake of Cuzieu is the largest lake in an area of many lakes along the river Loire near the village of Cuzieu. The lake is bordered by reed beds and has some islands. The reed beds and small islands attract a good number of birds such as Black-crowned Night Heron, Purple Heron, Little Egret and Cattle Egret, the latter particularly enjoying the company of cattle from neighboring farms. Other birds you can encounter are Western Marsh Harrier, Little Grebe, Common Snipe, Common Kingfisher, Black-headed Gull and Garganey.
