You start at the information center (free admission, Tuesday / Saturday 9 AM - 6 PM). Just behind the visitor center, a White Stork breeds on a nesting pole. and Common Nightingale sing to you from the bush. Raised wooden walkways lead you through swamps and swamp forests with large heron colonies. A little further you will find larger parts with open water and a vast reed field with Purple Swamphen. There are several good viewing cabins and viewing walls. A viewing hut gives you a beautiful view of the vast lake.

You can park at the visitor center on Route des Iscles Gallician, 30600 Vauvert. In the visitor center you can get a free map of the area. The people who work there are very helpful and show you places on the map where you can find specific bird species. There are 2 routes on the map. A red one of 4 km that makes a circle around the area. An orange route (2 km round trip) that guides you along the best viewpoints.
