Description

Etangs de Belval-en-Argonne is a nature reserve with several ponds and covers 203 hectares. The biggest pond is surrounded by a trail and has 3 bird hides. Great place for birdwatching as some less common species can often be seen here. Among the birds you can encounter are Bluethroat, Common Tern, Common Goldeneye, Great Crested Grebe, Western Marsh Harrier, Reed Bunting, Sedge Warbler, Great Reed Warbler, Savi's Warbler, Black Stork, Common Crane, Northern Lapwing, Common Kingfisher, Greylag Goose, Northern Shoveler, Common Teal, Great Egret and Garganey.
