Description

Etangs de Sanguinet et Biscarosse are two lakes that attract numerous wintering species (October-March). They are part of the coastal lake chain - stretching from Hourtin lake to the mouth of Adour - that are really worth a visit in autumn and winter. Among the birds you can encounter are Slavonian Grebe (Horned Grebe), Black-necked Grebe, Black-throated Diver (Arctic Loon), Red-throated Diver, Great Northern Diver (Common Loon), Red-breasted Merganser, Greater Scaup, Velvet Scoter, Caspian Gull and Great Bittern.
