Description

The bird reserve “Cité des Oiseaux” is a natural haven for breeding wild fowl and birds of prey and an important stop off point for migrating birds. The reserve is ideally located since it is on one of the largest North-South migratory routes and benefits from the influence of the region's major wetlands: Lake Grand Lieu, the Marais Breton, the Baie de Bourgneuf, the Marais Poitevin and the Baie de l'Aiguillon. The City of Birds allows you to observe a large amount of waterbirds and passing through from the observatory, the belvedere or simply by walking the trails.
