Description
Lac des prés Saint-Jean is a lake which in spring shelters a colony of herons with Cattle Egret, Little Egret and Black-crowned Night Heron. At the end of August until the middle of September an important dormitory of Cattle Egret is on the island of the lake. At the level of the largest buildings close to the lake, there is a colony of Alpine Swift, Common Swift and House Martin. During cold winters the lake is visited by many gulls as well as loons and grebes.

Français: Lac des prés Saint-Jean à Chalon-sur-Saône. Plan d'eau qui au printemps abrite une colonie de hérons avec du Cattle Egret , l' Little Egret, le Black-crowned Night Heron. Fin août jusqu'à la mi septembre un dortoir important de Cattle Egret se trouve sur l'île du plan d'eau. Au niveau des plus grands immeubles proches du plan d'eau, on retrouve une colonie de Alpine Swift , Common Swiftet House Martin. Au cours des hivers froids on retrouve tout un panel de laridés ainsi que les plongeons et les grèbes.
