Description

Le Chapelier is a large pond where many migratory birds land and where you can watch the courtship of the of Great Crested Grebe and Black-necked Grebe. Other birds you can encounter are Common Pochard, Ferruginous Duck, Tufted Duck, White Stork, Mute Swan, Spoonbill, Glossy Ibis, Great Egret, Little Egret, Purple Heron and Eurasian Nuthatch.

Access

You have to go to the village of Versailleux. The Chapelier pond is along the D 904. Possibility to park at the edge of the road or in the small car park on the left edge of the pond. Push the small iron gate to the right of the lake and follow the small path to the observation posts.

Français: Il faut aller au village de Versailleux ; l'étang du Chapelier est le long de la D 904 . Possibilité de se garer au bord de la route ou au petit parking sur le bord gauche de l'étang. Pousser la petite porte en fer à droite du lac et suivre le petit chemin jusqu'aux postes d'observation
