Facing England, looking north, the coastline of Varaville is located along the migratory route of seabirds. It is therefore a particularly suitable place for lookouts at sea. Among the birds that can be observed are Black-throated Diver (Arctic Loon), Slavonian Grebe (Horned Grebe), Black-necked Grebe, Northern Gannet, Greater Scaup, Common Scoter, Velvet Scoter, Pomarine Skua and Arctic Skua (Parasitic Jaeger).
