Marais de Bonnance

Nord  >  France

Renatured wetland with trails and observatory with a view of a pond in the Bonnance marshes.  150 to 200 species of birds nesting or passing through.

Added by David Laurent

Description

Between Pévèle and Mélantois near Lille the marshes of Bonance are reborn on 50 hectares. Marshes that, over the years, had all but disappeared with the natural filling, the construction of the A23 motorway that cut the marsh in half. But it's been renatured and since 2007 it is an ornithological reserve. The place is now home to a great diversity of plants and animals, species that overwinter, others that nest but also 150 to 200 species of birds passing through. Among the birds you can see here are Common KingfisherSnipeNorthern GoshawkGarganeyCommon Teal and many other species.
