You could easily overlook this tiny bird area. A small protected marsh of only some 30 hectares. It is hidden behind the hamlet of Courmelois and located between agricultural fields. A hiking trail of about one kilometer runs through the heart of it and is good for birding. On a quiet day you will need less than an hour to explore the area. Yet this can be a surprising rich birdspot. Golden Oriole and Red-backed Shrike are two of the great birds you can find here and on a good day you can spend easily more than an hour here. There are no birdwatching-hides along the trail. But because the landscape is open the birding along the trail is good to do. You have a good view over the different kinds of swamp vegetation. From reeds to willows. Not an area for long walks, but nice if you are passing by or staying in the neighbourhood and with a fair chance to see Golden Oriole or Red-backed Shrike.

Il est caché derrière le hameau de Courmelois et situé entre les champs agricoles. Un sentier de randonnée ou environ un kilomètre en traverse le cœur et est bon pour l'observation des oiseaux. Drive through Courmelois and just behind the village you can find the wetland. You can park alongside the road. See the P on the map. The trail begins next to the information panel.
