Plan d'eau de l'île de Ponneau is located on the banks of the river Loire. The body of water is surrounded by meadows which shelter interesting birds. In addition, you can observe nesting species of the river, such as terns. You can also see rare migrants who stop in the area from time to time.


Français: Plan d'eau relictuel du lit de la Loire, le plan d'eau voit passer les espèces nicheuses des bords de Loire, mais aussi des migrateurs occasionnels. Situé en bord de Loire, le plan d'eau est entouré de prairies qui abrite une avifaune d'intérêt. De plus on peut y observer les espèces nicheuses du fleuve, tels que les sternes. On peut aussi y apercevoir des migrateurs rares qui s'y arrêtent de temps à autre.



You can get there by car. There is a car park on the edge of the departmental road. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 3,5 km.
