Description
The Prairie de Verjux is an agricultural plain which mixes grazed meadows, hay meadows and crops. One can observe typical species such as Eurasian Curlew, Whinchat, Corn Bunting and Western Yellow Wagtail. In the spring it is a hunting area for the Montagu's Harrier which nests in arable crops. One can regularly observe the Marsh Harrier and more rarely the Corn Crake. In winter the wastelands are dormitories for Hen Harrier and Short-eared Owl. Access to the gravel pit on this site is prohibited, however from the outside you can see a beautiful colony of House Martin.
