Description

Reserve Naturelle du Bout du Lac d'Annecy is one of only 2 remaining wild areas around the lake. A nice 3 km walk through reed beds and forest, with a viewing platform and ruined tower giving views over the lake. Busy with walkers in summer, but fairly quiet otherwise. Birds to see include Great Crested Grebe, Goosander, White-throated Dipper, Great Cormorant (winter visitors), Red Kite (spring visitors). Best time to visit is in the winter, as the lake is busy with tourists in the summer.
