Description
Eagle Gorge is an easily accessible gorge from Dedoplistsqaro. Griffon Vulture, Black Stork and Peregrine Falcon breed on the cliffs and can easily be seen from specific watchpoints along the routes. On warm days, Short-toed Snake Eagle and Booted Eagle make regular appearances. In the forest down in the valley Golden Oriole and Green Warbler can be heard in spring and summer.
The cliff walls are home to Western Rock Nuthatch, Blue Rock Thrush and Crag Martin. Near the parking lot Black-headed Bunting, Ortolan Bunting and Barred Warbler are heard singing or can be seen on migration. In autumn, Demoiselle Crane are sometimes seen migrating past the highest tops. Further along the path there is a breeding facility for wild Common Pheasant , so a true wild bird of this species has to be encountered somewhere else.
