Description
Breeding site for a good number of open woodland species, close to wet meadows and reedbeds. The Hemmelsdorfer See /Lake is good for resting waterfowls and its reedbeds hold typical reedbed species. The watchtower is also excellent for watching raptors such as White-tailed Eagle or Common Buzzard. Corncrake is rare but possible on the edge between the meadows and farmland. Beware of the fact that there are birdcalls coming from the nearby birdpark, such as Eagle Owl or Cranes from China! There is also a flock of free flying Sacred Ibisis.

There is another good spot to watch the Hemmelsdorfer See. The village of Hemmelsdorf itself has a Restaurant area directly at the water. There are good spots around the restaurant to watch the lake.
