Description

Today, rows of trees line the former Bonames Airfield runway and an adjacent meadow invites you to relax and observe nature. In order to be able to see how quickly nature is reclaiming areas, the old chunks of concrete were piled up into piles of rubble of different sizes and left to plants and animals. The hot piles of rubble and high meadows invite bush breeders in particular to stay. Between the runway and the taxiway, a water surface that was wet from backwater was created. Today this pond and the surrounding wetlands are home and resting place for many amphibians and birds.
