The Baddeckenstedt Teiche are ponds that are located in the nature reserve Mittleres Innerstetal, about 6 km east of the Derneburg ponds. Numerous waterfowl breed here, including around 15 pairs of Little Grebe , 1-2 pairs of Black-necked Grebe and, for the first time in 2010, a pair of Red-necked Grebe. Occasionally, Great Crested Grebe also breed. In addition to Mallard and Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Common Pochard and Gadwall are at home here.
