Barrier lake with a bird watching station. Important resting place for many species during migration.
The lake is one of the most important resting places for the Eurasian Curlew during its autuum migration. The species can be seen from August to October in great quantities. Many other species of waterbirds and waders can temporarily also be spotted. There is a moderate frequency of Southern Germany rarities like the Eurasian Spoonbill, Little Egret and many more.
During the winter months you can spot large numbers of geese and duck species.
There is a small parking spot only few minutes from the bird observation place. The best way to explore the lake is by walking on the paths around it.
