Description

Buckenhofer Forst can be a good area to see Eurasian Pygmy Owl which can be seen or heard in the afternoon sitting on trees around the area. The Buckenhofer Forst is also a good area for woodpecker species including Great Spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker and the Grey-headed Woodpecker. This can also be a good area for woodland species such as Tawny Owl, Common Chaffinch, Wren, Eurasian Bullfinch, Common Goldeneye and Common Buzzard.

Access

From Uttenreuth you can go straight continously for 3km, until you go past remains of an old metal gate, where you will then go a bit further and turn left and the next turn. From Buckenhof go all the way to the friedhof (cemetary) and continue going straight from there for around 2 km. The circular walk in the area you see on the map is about 2,2 km long.
