Description

The Conventer See is a lake is located in a moor area of about 1200 hectares. As early as 1939, 216 hectares of this area were declared a nature reserve. The area is home to a variety of marsh and waterfowl. It is considered one of the most important waterfowl breeding and resting areas on the Baltic Sea coast. A large population of Mute Swan breeds here, but also Sedge Warbler and Great Bittern, Great Crested Grebe and Western Marsh Harrier. The otter also lives in the area.
