Description
Dassower See is a huge brackish water lake with hardly any disturbance by boats. Thats one of the reasons why this area is fantastic for all kinds of ducks, geese, swans, grebes and a good number of raptors. White-tailed Eagle can be seen easily and there are some good breeding species such as Bearded Tit, Bluethroat or Red-breasted Merganser. The main problem is that birding spots are hard to find and you will have to stop at various points to get some views. I would always recommend to do a round tour by car although bike is possible too and to start or finish at the Priwall/Pötenitzer Wiek. Depending on the weather you sometimes find 30000 ducks on one spot and none on the other and the next day the other way around.
