The area of a former french military airport Flugplatz Bremgarten consists of meadows and small forests and holds some of the scarcer breeding birds of the region, notably Golden Oriole, Corn Bunting, Melodious Warbler and European Turtle-Dove. In spring and autumn the area is good for migrating and resting raptors (e.g. harriers, sometimes Red-footed Falcon) and passerines (e.g. Northern Wheatear, Whinchat).
The area cannot be explored by car. Best to park south of the area at the signposted parking lot, and then walk or use the bike. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
