Description

The Galenbecker See is a shallow lake with wide reed belts. The best birding opportunities you have here are from birding platforms around the lake (Heinrichswalde, Fleethof, Galenbeck). During autum migration tenthousands of geese and Common Crane are feeding on surrounding grassland and fields, and roosting on the lake. This is also a breeding area of White-tailed Eagle and Osprey.
