Description

The Ilkerbruch consists of larger water areas with shallow water areas and reed beds, wet grasslands and alder forests. The wetland is a bird resting place during migration. Among others Common Snipe, White-tailed Eagle, Common Cuckoo, White Stork, Red Kite and duck species such as Garganey and birds like Common Crane occur.

Access

An approximately six-kilometre-long nature trail leads around the Ilkerbruch nature reserve. There are stations with information boards. Visitors can observe waterfowl on several observation platforms and from a 12 m high observation tower. The bird observation platforms and hides can be accessed by walking and cycling.
