The monastery complex in Weddern was founded in 1477 and existed until 1804. It was the only charterhouse in Westphalia. A tour is worthwhile.

Description

Around Karthaus nature is still in order. The area is located in the nature reserve Karthäuser Mühlenbach and this river still runs in its original form. With a bit of luck you can see Common Kingfisher, Little Grebe, Great Cormorant, Greylag Goose, Canada Goose and many other birds.
