Description

Scrub and open mesobromium grasslands with typical breeding birds like Red-backed Shrike, Eurasian Wryneck, Whinchat, European Stonechat, Greater Whitethroat, and one of the most important Wood Lark population in northern Bavaria, as well as resting birds like Tawny Pipit, Northern Wheatear or Hen Harrier.

Access

The area is only accessable on foot. The circular walking trail you see on the map is about 4 km. You best get there by car, best parking at the water station next to the crossroad Oberlauter - Oberwohlsbach - Fornbach/Weißenbrunn.

For public transport you can take bus line 2 from Coburg to Oberlauter and leave at "Oberlauter Rathaus".
