Description

Situated close to the Leitz-Park complex, the Leica Nature Trail is a circular route with numerous information boards with detailed explanations of the diverse aspects of nature encountered along the way. The 3 km nature trail starts at the Leica headquarters in Wetzlar and you can loan a pair of Leica binoculars in the Leica Store and test the Leica products.. The trail runs partly through forest, along some small ponds, grazed meadows and through more open areas. Among the birds you can see are Little Owl, Tawny Owl, Red-backed Shrike, Northern Goshawk, Black Woodpecker, Common Redstart and Red Kite. But you can also encounter wild boar, deer, hare and fox.

Access

You can park at the Leica Store in the Leitz-Park complex in Wetzlar. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The trail is free to use for all birders. If you want to try out Leica binoculars you can get your pair in the Leica Store and take the binoculars along the trail. No better way to test if a pair of binoculars suits you.
