Description
The Lietzengraben area offers wet meadows and waters as an ideal breeding and resting area for birds. Not far from the city you can see species that you rarely find in Berlin. Such as Red-backed Shrike or Common Kingfisher. The dense reeds are home to Reed Warbler and Reed Bunting. You also have a chance of Black Kite flying over.

Access
You can park directly opposite the entrance, but you can also reach the Lietzengraben by bike. The walking trail that is shown on the map is about 4 km.
The area is close to the Karower ponds, which are definitely also worth a visit for birders and also described on this website.
