Description

Naturschutzgebiet Mönchbruch is characterised by its diverse habitat of old oaks, wet meadows, alder woodland and water ditches. The area has good populations of European Stonechat and Middle Spotted Woodpecker. Other species that can be observed here are Mute Swan, Greylag Goose, Eurasian Wryneck, Common Snipe, Eurasian Skylark , Black Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Red-backed Shrike, Common Kingfisher, Eurasian Nuthatch,Black Kite, European Honey-buzzard and Eurasian Hobby.

Access

The best way to reach the nature reserve Mönchbruch is via the main road 486 (B 486) and park at Jagdschloß Mönchbruch (Mönchbruch hunting castle). Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 3,5 km.
