Spacious, natural park with mature trees in the west of Munich.
Nymphenburger Schlosspark is a special protected area (FFH-Schutzgebiet) and includes various habitats. This means that a large number of birds can be observed all year round. Almost 200 species have already been identified here. The mature trees provide habitat for owls, especially the frequently seen Tawny Owl, woodpeckers and numerous species of songbirds. Many species of ducks and geese, divers, seagulls or even Common Kingfisher can be observed all year round on the many lakes and canals.
The castle and the associated park are easily accessible by tram and bus as well as by car. Click on the P in the map for directions. There are many paths in the park: along the canals, through forests and across meadows. Birds can be seen almost everywhere. The adjoining botanical garden is also worth a visit.
