Obermühle and the adjacent nature reserve of Amstelbachtal have diverse habitats with a multitude of bird species: forest, stream, adjacent meadows, fields. Rather damp, shady and cool. Among the birds you can encounter are Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Long-tailed Tit, Eurasian Nuthatch, Eurasian Treecreeper, White Wagtail and Western Yellow Wagtail.
