Flooded plains surrounded by lush reed, wet meadows and shrubs.
FFH-Area Päwesiner Lötz is a 15ha former peat cutting area that has been refilled and is out of agricultural use since the 1990s. The area is characterized by numerous ditches, ponds, lush reedbeds, wet meadows and shrubs. The area is difficult to access during summer, due to the high grown reed. In winter and spring it might be easier.
The area is accessible by car and there are several parking places (see the map), but you will have to explore the shores of the lakes on foot.
There is a very similar area called Wachower Lötz to the north that i will include in this map. Also there is Beetzsee to the west, where you can easily see Osprey and other common species in this region.
