Surrounded by the river Trave and the Baltic, the Priwall is like an island. Its, forests, bushes, wet meadows and shores attract lots of different birds. Especcially the Nature Reserev (NSG) Südlicher Priwall, well managed by the "Landschaftspflegeverein Dummersdorfer Ufer", is a superb area, famous for its breeding Northern Lapwing. In winter the surrounding river Trave, Dassower See and Pötenitzer Wiek sometimes hold great numbers of ducks.
Get there by bike, train (Travemünde), bus (Travemünde) and then take the little ferry onto the Priwall. From there on it`s easy to walk or best to ride by bike.

Going on further east along the bicycle/Walking track near the coastline, you have the chance for Common Rosefinch , but only in the summer months. The coastal areas around Rosenhagen, Brook or Schwanensee are good, all in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
